Texas News — Over the past year, Measure, in partnership with the Austin AI Alliance, Austin's Open Government Partnership and several community groups, asked more than 409 Austin residents over several town halls, events, and gatherings one simple question: "What does responsible and ethical artificial intelligence mean to you?"
The answers became the Communities In The Loop Black Paper—a community-informed blueprint that reflects the hopes, concerns, and recommendations of Austin residents as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives.

Following the White House’s release of its National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence—which strongly advocates for unified federal laws and the preemption of state-level restrictions—states continue to aggressively roll out their own rules.
A wave of rigorous state compliance laws has officially taken effect, including California’s AI Training Data Transparency Act, Texas’s Responsible AI Governance Act, and New York becoming the first U.S. state to impose a moratorium on new hyperscale data centers.
