Today marks the official kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month, and UTM is excited to invite our entire tech ecosystem to celebrate with us! In the U.S., September 15th - October 15th is a dedicated time to honor the rich cultures, histories, and incredible contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities. At UTM, we will focus on those driving innovation, building communities, and leading the way in the tech industry.
To honor the occasion, UTM is hosting two editions of UTM Horizons spotlighting the journeys, insights, and achievements of two phenomenal Hispanic male leaders in our ecosystem:

Latinitas and Travis County Expand Free STEAM Camps in Austin
Texas News — Austin-based nonprofit and UTM community partner, Latinitas, utilized county-backed funding this summer to deliver free Design Chica tech and coding camps to over 100 young students. The summer initiative focused on removing financial barriers to technical education, equipping young Latinas with hands-on experience in design thinking, software creation, and digital literacy.
LULAC National Convention Launches Hispanic Digital Infrastructure Initiative
U.S. Tech News — During its 2026 summer national convention, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) convened technology executives and public policy leaders to expand its Empower Hispanic America with Technology initiative. The summer coalition launched targeted programs to accelerate rural broadband infrastructure and deliver bilingual AI literacy training to underrepresented Latino communities nationwide.
Paraguay Tech Week 2026 Mobilizes Latin American Innovation Hubs
Global Tech News — Asunción hosted Paraguay Tech Week 2026, bringing together over 3,000 participants, 90 startups, and venture capitalists from 18 countries.
