Head of Programs
Expected Salary: $65,000+
Job Summary
The Head of Programs leads all AUTMHQ external and internal programs, including participant services. This role drives strategic execution across training, job placement, and digital equity services. The Head of Programs manages staff, builds partnerships, and ensures program outcomes align with AUTMHQ’s workforce development mission. This position plays a critical leadership role in scaling impact, improving systems, and maintaining alignment with grants and funding goals.

Provide strategic oversight of all workforce development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational mission, goals, and long-term vision.
Supervise department team members, including leads, managers, coordinators, interns, and
volunteers, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable culture.
Ensure participants are effectively recruited, enrolled, retained, and graduated from their respective training, job placement, and digital equity services.
Oversee data collection, compliance tracking, and grant reporting to maintain program integrity and transparency with funders.
Analyze program performance and operational metrics to identify gaps, inform decision-making, and drive continuous improvement.
Manage and deepen relationships with key stakeholders, including employers, partners, vendors, and community organizations.
Identify and support participants at risk of attrition, leading intervention strategies that promote program completion and long-term success.
Mentor and develop internal talent across the programs team to build leadership capacity and sustain organizational growth.
Identify opportunities to scale and replicate high-impact program models, incorporating innovation and best practices that expand organizational reach.
Serve as a visible ambassador of AUTMHQ, representing the organization at events, conferences, in the media, and throughout the broader community.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training, and/or work experience required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related major, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in workforce development, program management, or related fields.
At least 3 years of direct experience supervising cross-functional teams, including staff, interns, and volunteers.
Demonstrated success in leading high-impact programs that support underserved or underrepresented populations.
Proven track record of meeting performance metrics, achieving participant outcomes, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Experience managing partnerships with employers, government agencies, nonprofits, and community-based organizations.
Familiarity with training programs, industry certifications, digital equity initiatives, and career pathways within the technology sector.
Experience with grant management, compliance tracking, and reporting to funders or government entities.
Previous involvement in fundraising, grant writing, and/or business development is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong strategic planning and organizational leadership abilities.
Advanced skills in program evaluation, impact measurement, and continuous improvement.
Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot) and capable of using data to inform decision-making.
Strong understanding of workforce development laws, trends, and best practices—especially within tech or digital sectors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience with public speaking and stakeholder presentations.
High emotional intelligence, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse teams.
Adept at navigating ambiguity and solving problems in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of accountability and results orientation.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience building and scaling systems, policies, and workflows for program operations.
Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships that drive growth and impact.
Creative thinker who proposes innovative solutions and implements best practices to improve outcomes.
Work Environment

Hybrid schedule with in-office presence expected 2-3 times per week.
Some travel may be required to meet with funders and represent the company externally.
