Logic Gateways: Turn a Problem into a Business Plan
A hands-on entrepreneurship workshop during Digital Inclusion Week

Every business starts with a problem worth solving. In this interactive two-hour workshop, you'll take a real problem from your community, your work, or your own life and turn it into a clear business concept.

• What you'll do:

  • Get to the root of the problem using the "5 Whys," a simple technique for finding what's really going on

  • Work through the Logic Gateways method in three stages:

    • Problem: define it, connect it to your passion, and test whether it's real

    • Product: shape your value proposition, what makes you different, and how you'll earn revenue

    • Plan: map your go-to-market approach, your team, and your ask

  • Build your Business Model Canvas step by step

  • Share your canvas with the group and get feedback

You'll leave with: a completed Business Model Canvas and a clear next step for your idea.

Who it's for: aspiring entrepreneurs, side-hustlers, career changers, and anyone curious about turning an idea into something real. No business experience needed.

About Digital Inclusion Week:

Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) aims to raise awareness for solutions addressing home internet access, personal devices, and local technology training and support programs. This year, Digital Inclusion Week occurs from October 5-10. The City of Austin and the Digital Empowerment Community of Austin (DECA) are offering a host of events for residents to learn more about the digital divide and how to achieve digital inclusion and equity.
