Expected Salary: $60,000+

Job Summary

The Director of Community Engagement leads the company’s efforts to build and strengthen relationships with community partners, volunteers, and supporters. This role is central to advancing the company’s visibility, reach, and mission by developing and coordinating volunteer programs, community outreach initiatives, and strategic partnerships. The Director will oversee digital literacy and access efforts, represent the company at public events, and mobilize external resources that support participants and amplify organizational impact. Job Responsibilities

  1. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and interns to support community events, departments, program workshops, and outreach initiatives.

  2. Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with community-based organizations, nonprofits, schools, government agencies, employers, and corporate sponsors.

  3. Support the Programs team with digital literacy efforts and training delivery, helping connect community resources and volunteer facilitators.

  4. Plan, manage, and attend public-facing community events, including town halls, service days, information sessions, and outreach campaigns.

  5. Represent the company at community initiatives and stakeholder meetings, ensuring organizational visibility and alignment with local priorities.

  6. Coordinate with the Marketing team to promote engagement campaigns, partner stories, and community impact narratives.

  7. Maintain accurate partner and engagement records in CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) for tracking and reporting.

  8. Gather and report community feedback to inform programming, outreach, and strategic partnerships.

  9. Track and report in-kind donations and volunteer contributions, supporting development and grants teams.

  10. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to align external partnerships with organizational needs and capacity.

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training, and/or work experience required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, or partnership management.

  • Demonstrated success building and scaling external relationships across diverse communities.

  • Familiarity with digital equity and digital literacy concepts, with ability to facilitate trainings.

  • Previous experience managing outreach campaigns, public events, and/or community engagement strategies.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and basic reporting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.

  • Skilled in volunteer training, community organizing, and relationship management.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term outreach and long-term engagement planning.

  • Collaborative, mission-driven, and able to navigate community and partner expectations.

  • Adept at project management, scheduling, and team coordination.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools for documentation and communication.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule with in-office presence expected 1-2 times per week.

  • Some travel may be required to meet with funders and represent the company externally.

  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
